Black Box Players (BBP) is one of Syracuse University’s  main theatre-producing groups on campus.  BBP produces 2-3 mainstage plays/musicals a semester across 3 different campus spaces, as well as weekly workshops, a play-reading festival, and cabarets throughout the semester.

Production Manager -

As Production Manager I was responsible for overseeing all communication between creative teams as well as the execution of productions. I directly supervised the events team of our boad who was responsible in helping make sure all of the elements work and show up. I held and scheduled weekly production meetings as well as coordinated and oversaw all load ins and strikes for our productions.

Managing Director -

In my role as Managing Director I handle all human resources, contracting, and registration for our organization. As well as overseeing all of the day-to-day operations of the organization. Since we are a student organization doing theatre, many of our productions require a full hands-on approach to put up. Including scenic carpentry, props, and wig/makeup work, all coming from our board. We have a board of about 25, which I directly oversee for job execution and day-to-day tasks. I also led a fundraising campaign for our organization that raised $2,900!

Interim Managing/Director of Production  -

During my final 5 months as Managing Director our Director of Production had to step away for the rest of the season. Due to this I took over as Director of Production while also executing the jobs of the Managing Director. During this time we produced 3 fully staged productions. Including Dear Evan Hansen, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a new work called The Voices Inn Us. Of which I was in charge of coordination all aspects of the production and directly communicating with event staff as well as production teams.
